Monitoring domain name registrations regularly is a relatively straightforward process, but tracking the use of names on Web pages is more difficult, and it may not be feasible to uncover all uses. For one thing, experts say querying all the major search engines separately results in a search that covers only about 42 percent of the Web.

A lawyer needs an online research library that can also be accessed offline. The lawyer wants only the information she needs, but her needs depend on the needs of her clients. And she occasionally needs to be able to share information with clients. One way to approach this task involves using CatchTheWeb (www.catchtheweb.com), a Web application service. How to configure an online library is discussed, and online sources of information are identified.
