Lawyers put selves in 'Jepardy!' They are among the top winners on the syndicated TV trivia quiz show
Article Abstract:
The legal profession comprise a disproportionate number of the contestants on the television game show 'Jeopardy.' Lawyers and sometimes legal assistants can be trained to regard problems from every angle and be better at answering trivia questions. Lawyers think their 'Jeopardy' expertise comes from cramming for the bar examination and from responding to professors' socratic questions. The show itself has taken advantage of the lawyerization of popular culture in its questions.

The debt crisis
Article Abstract:
America's culture and legal system both encourage people to attend law school without consideration of the financial consequences, which are now truly burdensome for many. Easy loans compound the problem and encourage law schools to raise tuition and go on spending sprees hiring the most expensive professors and building the most modern facilities. The profession could again become available only to the wealthy, or create indentured servitude to pay off the required loans.
