Guns, crime, and academics: some reflections on the gun control debate
Article Abstract:
Thomas Marvell states that his research shows that laws banning juvenile gun possession do not reduce homicide or suicide rates. He should point out that such laws are bad policy because they actually increase crime against juveniles. Not making complete conclusions based on objective research lessens the political value of academic study.

Violence, guns, and drugs: a cross-country analysis
Article Abstract:
Differences in violent crime rates between different countries cannot be explained by differences in gun control laws. Enforcement of drug laws provides a better explanation for the crime rate differentials.
