In the long run: competing in Rocky Mountain ultramarathons keeps this lawyer on the go
Article Abstract:
Madison, WI lawyer Margaret Stafford competes in ultramarathons as a way to challenge herself and enjoy the outdoors, though not for the competition itself. She has run several 50- and 100-mile races in the Rocky Mountains, passing out partway through one but going on to complete it. Now 47, she has competed in such races since 1989, and says older runners tend to do better because of their patience and because they can no longer do as well in shorter races.
