Welcome to the IQ, a new useful questionnaire
Article Abstract:
The American Society of Chartered Life Underwriters and Chartered Financial Consultants has developed an educational tool to help people understand the various things that can happen when non-guaranteed performance assumptions are used to produce computer sales illustrations of life insurance policies. The Life Insurance Illustration Questionnaire will help insurance agents understand the reasoning behind the illustrations they use in showing clients how much money their policies are supposed to be worth.

State probate laws regarding insurance proceeds threatened
Article Abstract:
The drafters of the Uniform Probate Code are considering changes to the model laws adopted by many states that would result in the inclusion of life insurance proceeds in probate. One of the advantages of life insurance is its exclusion from probate. The change in law is being justified on grounds that inclusion in probate would improve protections for surviving spouses. Critics have noted that disinheritance of spouses will still be possible though a number of other estate planning methods.
