Judicial review of partial arbitral awards under Section 10(a)(4) of the Federal Arbitration Act
Article Abstract:
The Federal Arbitration Act forbids courts from reviewing arbitral awards before all issues in an arbitration have been decided. Recently, some courts have been interpreting this requirement in a way that allows for review of some partial awards. This course of action undermines the purposes of arbitration and the sanctity of contract.

The developing American approach to arbitrability

The issue of arbitrability is assessed as it has been dealt with in legislation and court cases. The development of rules relating to what disputes can be arbitrated and the permissable scope of arbitration agreements is examined.
