Proposed legislation would repeal estate, gift, and GST taxes
Article Abstract:
A tax reform measure entitled the Death Tax Elimination Act of 2000 which was passed by the House of Representatives in June 2000 is discussed. The measure would repeal the estate and gift tax and modify rules governing generation-skipping transfers.

The author discusses the advantages to older individuals of buying policies that combine life insurance and long-term care insurance coverage. Single premium long-term care policies are covered and a number of examples of how linked benefit insurance policies work are provided.
