The author discusses how corporate interests and the structure of the legal system are affected by the private interests of managers, controlling shareholders, and other insiders. Managerial motivations for listing on foreign stock markets are examined.

Who will raise the white flag? The battle between the United States and the European Union over the protection of geographical indicators

The author examines the conflict between the US and the European Union over product names which the EU believes should be protected by trademark law based on their status as geographical indications. Suggestions for resolving the problem are provided.
