Mapping it out
Article Abstract:
CaseMap 3.0 is a knowledge management-based collection of litigation tools. This is a 'thinking tool' that aids in organizing evidence, case facts and issues, witness testimony and questions in a comprehensive way. The software makes it easy to evaluate and manipulate the evidence in order to communicate effectively. Data entry is simple and the accumulation of information in an easily manipulated database eliminates the task of reviewing pages of notes and other evidence when preparing for a case. The software is useful for team litigation and remote use. Individual licenses are priced at $495, additional licenses are discounted from five to 25 percent.

Shopping for small firm case managers
Article Abstract:
Choosing the most appropriate case management software package depends on the needs and circumstances at a particular law firm. Talking to people and asking questions is recommended, as is reading articles and product reviews. It is useful to visit vendors' Web sites, and demos often can be downloaded. Generally speaking, case management software is highly recommended because it improves client services, minimizes risks of malpractice and tends to cut costs and increase efficiency.
