Westerfield was the first African American law professor to obtain tenure at both schools. He was also the first African American to serve as dean at both schools. Catholic Church-affiliated school resists Old Testament discipline
Article Abstract:
Miami, FL's St. Thomas University School of Law has decided that a student found guilty of plagiarism should be finished by having to write a 5-page paper on the subject. The Catholic school has been criticized for being too easy on the accused students. One student was even acquitted. Faculty sources stated they expected two students to sue after they graduated in May, 1997, probably so that the plagiarism convictions will be erased from their permanent records.
