Article Abstract:
Issues regarding potential third-party liability for the use of computers for computer crimes, particularly hacking, are discussed. The key cause of action would be negligence, and the issue whether the computer owner had a duty of care to ultimate victims.

The increase in law firm management by nonlawyers with executive decisionmaking power, and chief operating officers (COO) have replaced legal administrators in such firms. Factors including the increased competitiveness of legal practice and the trends toward growth, consolidation and globalization have driven the COO trend.

Women: lonely at top; applause form women named to lead firms masks small number
Article Abstract:
There seems to be no direct connection between the increased number of women attorneys and their numbers in management positions at law firms. The persistently low numbers of woman attorneys to have reached the top echelons remain a disappointment. Law firm life has gotten more competitive as women have achieved a more senior ranking. Client development has become a law firm expectation of lawyers who want to become equity owners.
