Protected areas and regional substainability: surveying decision makers in the Lake Superior Basin

The results of a survey of the attitudes of American and Canadian local community leaders in the Lake Superior Basin region regarding the role of nearby protected areas are discussed. The level of environmental knowledge of these leaders was assessed.

Learning from the limits of an adjudicatory strategy for resolving United States-Canada fisheries conflicts: lessons from the Gulf of Maine
Article Abstract:
The Gulf of Maine fisheries case's questionable inclusion in the adjudicatory process is discussed. Bodies such as the Great Lakes Fishery Commission are better able than the World Court to deal with the fisheries problem in this area.
