Searching out legal resources
Article Abstract:
Many legal resources are available electronically and some search tools on the Web are designed specifically to aid legal practitioners. The LawCrawler site uses the AltaVista search engine to perform key-word searches, after which LawCrawler removes all the non-legal sites. The LawRunner site performs a similar service. The INTRALAW service identifies and categorizes hyperlinks to Web sites with legal information. Users download the lists of categorized links and open the file in a Web browser. The downloaded file, called Legal Navigator, is updated two times a month. A less comprehensive service is provided by the Brief Exchange Legal Network, for which users pay a monthly fee to get access to the lists of hyperlinks, which are stored on the Network's Web site. Publishers of CD-ROM legal resources often place information about their products on their Web sites. Information about CD-ROMs for legal practitioners may also be found in book form in the Directory of Law-Related CD-ROMs.

Business law resources online
Article Abstract:
Increasing numbers of online and CD-ROM legal resources are emerging to provide corporate and business attorneys with a complete spectrum of business topics including formation, labor relations and mergers and acquisitions. These electronic resources also cover securities, limited liability, franchising, corporate counsel practices and family business operations. They provide extensive online information about business, case law and practice form statutes. The Findlaw Corporation and Enterprise Law Web site is a good electronic business resource starting point. The site has links to government agencies, statutes, journals, newsletters and various other business sites. The US House of Representatives Internet Law Library's Business finance, economic and consumer protection law sources Web site is also a valuable resource. Lawyers looking for corporate counsel should consult The Corporate Bar Web site containing information on more than 1,000 US corporate attorneys.
