Shopper's guide to legal document assembly
Article Abstract:
Legal document assembly applications are presented. Attorneys are instructed to initially locate an appropriate document assembly model that they can cut and paste with applicable provisions to meet current client needs. Lawyers must subsequently customize documents by replacing the prior client's information with the current client's data. Finally, the entire document must be reviewed to ensure that all prior customizations and inconsistencies have been eliminated. Document assembly systems can assist attorneys in streamlining and standardizing this process and they can help avoid embarrassing mistakes that could lead to malpractice suits. These applications commonly feature drafting rules that allocate where sections, paragraphs, sentences and words are placed in distinct circumstances.
