The big push: federal prosecutors pump iron into their campaign against bodybuilding steroids
Article Abstract:
Since the passage of the Anabolic Steroids Control Act in Feb 1991 federal prosecutors have been intensifying their efforts against sellers and users of these drugs, which are commonly used for body-building. DEA investigators and US attorneys believe that such prosecutions will help discourage the abuse of steroids. However, defense attorneys argue that education is preferable to prosecution as a preventive strategy. Prosecutors would like to amend the law to include steroid substitutes.

Gripes are changing jury duty
Article Abstract:
Public discontent with jury service is forcing an increasing number of states to switch to systems requiring jurors to serve for only one day unless they are selected for a trial. Florida is the most recent convert to this jury system, following states such as Connecticut, Colorado and Massachusetts. As of mid-1993, at least 30% of US citizens are now in jurisdictions with 'one-day-one-trial' systems.
