The mediation is the message; lawyers give onscreen meetings a thumbs-up for settling disputes
Article Abstract:
Mediating by computer makes the process more convenient and has become increasingly useful for mediating between hostile parties such as offenders in a restitution settlement or crime victims. Conferences by computer are also useful for attorneys working outside of their main offices who want to communicate with lawyers at the firm, as well as for disabled participants who otherwise might not be able to attend. Advantages include privacy and not saving the information on the computer's hard drive.
