Tracking phone calls with CallCost
Article Abstract:
Call Management Products' CallCost, a combination hardware software package, offers a valuable service by tracking calls and their associated costs. The system makes it unnecessary to manually record phone calls and charges, by recording data for both incoming and outgoing calls, including long-distance costs. Calls can be associated with a particular client and reports can be easily generated to summarize the information. Users can deploy an unlimited number of account codes to sort out calls by client or file and the accounts codes can be entered via the telephone keypad when the calls is made, or put into the computer at a later time. Phone numbers that are called often can be pre-assigned an account code. The package's reporting features are excellent and several detailed reports can be printed. The box can tracks calls on two phone lines, but it will not work on rotary or digital PBX systems.

Article Abstract:
DATA.TXT Corp's $249 Time Matters legal case management software combines the feature of a personal information manager with basic case management functions in a product ideal for attorneys. The software includes a legal data calendar and timetable which may be used to monitor statutes of limitations and to determine when the statutory deadlines for a specific case occur. A conflict of interest function searches active and saved files, looking through telephone notes, calendars, memos, ticklers and contact and case records for potential conflicts. Data stored in Time Matters may be exported to Microsoft Word or WordPerfect and used to produce pleadings, letters, notices and other documents. The personal information manager features help users organize names, addresses, telephone numbers and other miscellaneous information.
