Appellate court affirms foreign tax credit reduction from indirect subsidy
Article Abstract:
PNC Financial has appealed for its claims of US foreign tax credit from the Central Bank of Brazil. The tax on the loan arrangements between PNC and the Central bank was 25% for 1984 and 1985, however, Brazilian law provided subsidies of 40%to the bank. The appellate court's affirmation of the tax credit reduction ruling is discussed.
