Article Abstract:
The BBC has established a strong presence abroad in a very short time through BBC Worldwide, which made a contribution of 72 million pounds sterling to the BBC in 1995. This division aims to treble the contribution it can make to the BBC in 10 years, particularly building on the power of the BBC brand. It is looking to develop international audio-visual operations, and has already reached an agreement with Access, a Canadian cable channel.
