British Broadcasting Co. (BBC) has received the largest amount of nominations for the Royal Television Society Television Sports Awards. BBC received 20 nominations, mainly due to the fact that BSkyB has refused to enter the awards.

Television broadcasting giant BBC1 has received more television audience ratings for its 2006 Football World Cup coverage. The channel received 5.9million audience ratings while ITV got 5.8million.
