Bolly vision
Article Abstract:
Western TV broadcasters are becoming increasingly active in India, but it will be a while before they receive a return on their investments. Despite the Indian government's commitment to deregulation and liberalization, the process will be slow and cumbersome. India's broadcasting market is relatively undeveloped, with just one official television service, the state broadcaster Doordarshan. Star TV is the dominant satellite broadcaster, although many other satellite channels are available throughout the nation, mostly belonging to local cable operators.
