Article Abstract:
Channel 4Es future strategy is to move closer to its public service origins and away from commercialization. It has asked for [pounds sterling]100 million to help commission more of the brave, innovative programming that it is known for. The unprecedented success of Big Brother has helped Channel 4 garner about [pounds sterling]60 million in profits, but it has also distorted public perception of Channel 4 as a public broadcaster, which the requested additional funding may restore.
