Ofcom has fined GMTV two million pounds for failing to accomplish an audit of its telephone service provider's processes and neglected its compliance responsibilities. GMTV over four years has earned approximately 49.2 million pounds for its phone-in competitions, taking in around 62 million calls, and will still be able to keep all the profit. An evaluation of the GMTV phone-in competition scandal is presented.

Dave orders puppet panel show

UKTV's newly launched Freeview channel Dave has commissioned "...And Then You Die", a dark comedy panel show which is hosted by a puppet named Barrie Stardust. The 6 x 30-minute show produced by North One celebrates the worst aspects of life. The format of the show and the first panellists for the first few episodes are discussed.
