Five's eye for cable guy
Article Abstract:
With the merger plans between Channel 4 and Five coming to a naught, there is much speculation about a deal between Five and Telewest's Flextech. Buying Flextech, including its UKTV channels that are a fifty percent joint-venture with BBC Worldwide, will provide a much needed toehold for Five in multichannel television. However, there are doubts whether BBC would continue the joint partnership or prefer to opt out if there is a change of ownership at Flextech.
