GMTV reveals its Teletubbies rival
Article Abstract:
GMTV has signed a deal to commission the animation series "Jellabies" that is being billed as potential rival to "Teletubbies." The 78 x 5-minute computer-animated show, which is produced by independent Winchester Entertainment, features six characters who reside in a place called Jelly Land. The characters do not speak in English, so narrator Rik Mayall will have the job of explaining their dialogues. The series will be aired as a 20-minute Saturday morning program on GMTV's current analogue service and on the broadcasting firm's digital terrestrial television (DTT) service.

Your guide to the digital future
Article Abstract:
Electronic programme guides (EPGs) are set to have a significant impact on television viewing practices in the UK. They will transform digital set-top boxes into the equivalent of small computers, and will act as a vital user interface for digital television. They will offer a wide range of services, and will make the television screen look similar to that of a PC. It is widely accepted that EPGs are a key element in digital television broadcasting developments.
