Has media and communication research become invisible?
Article Abstract:
Modern media and communication research that has grown out of a variety of disciplines, political science, economics, sociology, psychology, history, literature and linguistics is discussed. It is felt that all are in an age where the media are among the strongest influences in the society that do not by default leave science-based media philosophy and media criticism to others.

The writer feels that one need to find meaningful ways of engaging as specialists with social movements and civil society organizations learning as well as suggesting and counseling. He feels that one also need to have sustained and searching procedures for evaluating the research with the public whom all strive to serve.

An effort made to describe the formative stage in the studies of communications in Europe is given. The canonized melody of the 1950s was a shared expression for securing a public space, a responsibility for an ever-growing rhythm of international communications.
