Head banger
Article Abstract:
BBC Worldwide's new CEO, Rupert Gavin, aims to make the company a truly international media group, instead of being clearly stronger in the UK. Gavin, who took the helm of the firm on Jul. 1, 1998, was well received by observers both inside and outside the company due to his focused leadership abilities. Independently wealthy and holding properties in London and Dorset, the executive new leader was probably considered for the job because of his stint in British Telecom, leading that company's multimedia activities, which include the creation of British Interactive Broadcasting.
