A profile of Lord John Birt, former director general of the BBC is presented. Even though Birt left BBC almost five years ago, he is still deeply involved with the issues relating to it. In fact, Birt tries to influence the policies related to BBC. It may be because he contributed so much to BBC's development that he does wish to let it fall apart.
