Journalism meets art: Courtroom sketches convey subjective elements beyond the range of the camera
Article Abstract:
Sketches are the sole source of images for federal and other highly sensitive cases, and even in the O.J. Simpson trial, artists were able to capture people and actions out of the reach of the camera. Courtroom sketches are able to condense actions that take place over time, absorbing both physical and emotional elements out of reach of video lens. The visual language of early artists' courtroom renderings were similar to book illustration, and today most sketch reporters are trained as artists, rather than journalists.

Chile - the emerging influence of women in journalism
Article Abstract:
The influence of women in Chile has been strongest only in the media and journalism education, despite the revolutionary change in policy formation and governance. Chile's six primary schools of journalism are headed by women, and one-third of mid-level executives in journalism are women, but the paternalistic traditions and the demands on women from the domestic front will continue to make their task difficult.

Journalism, publicity and the lost art of argument
Article Abstract:
Journalists have lost the art of debating crucial issues concerning the public and are unable to find effective solutions to stem the flow of publicity being accorded to the political view points of the leaders. The print media should be used effectively to generate opinion among the intellectuals about the true worth of the leaders and issues of importance.
