Andy Duncan the BBC's director of marketing and communications states they think that the free to air satellite service, particularly outside freeview coverage areas is the key missing piece of the jigsaw and without that they won't get switchover. He is now in the process of discussing with other broadcasters, Sky is a little more circumspect, and after all a free satellite service could damage its business.
