The current business cycle has meant that suppliers must look beyond their traditional markets. School sales, once a mainstay, have declined. Customers are now producing smaller multi-media shows which means less equipment. Audio, overhead units, and slide projector sales are still doing well.

10,000 people attended the sixth annual Visual Communications Congress in New York City in June. Multi-media demonstrations were given by many of the exhibitors. Seminars covered teleconferencing and video conferencing and other forms of corporate communications.
