Mission to win
Article Abstract:
There is a coherent strategy behind the output of BBC Science, according to Jana Bennett, who heads this unit. She acknowledges the wide impact which technology, science and medicine can have, but does not feel that the unit should become involved in the making of general documentaries. She has specific aims for BBC Science, and this has been reflected in her willingness to undertake large, daring projects. She is particularly keen to develop BBC Science's news capability through an output deal with BBC News.

Profits dawning?
Article Abstract:
It is vital that television program presenters work as a team, according to GMTV Managing Director Christopher Stoddart. It is important to respond to challenges and to changing business circumstances, but it is vital not to make changes too rapidly, as this can alienate audiences. He believes that GMTV now deals very well with big breaking stories, and is determined to ensure that no future presenters feel that they are more important than the programme itself.
