Overactive bids
Article Abstract:
Digital Television Network and British Digital Broadcasting, the main bidders for the digital terrestrial television licence in the UK, have both recently made changes to their bids in order to eliminate perceived weaknesses. United News and Media will now invest in Digital Television Network, while British Digital Broadcasting has forged links with British Interactive Broadcasting, formed by BSkyB, Midland Bank, British Telecommunications and Matsushita. These developments are presenting considerable challenges to the Independent Television Commission.
