The Royal Television Society Cambridge Convention, organized by BSkyB CEO James Murdoch, was able to present several ideas and tackle issues successfully, amidst widepread criticism from its participants. All3Media creative director David Liddiment shared that in order to be creative, one must embrace failure. Other highlights of the conference, such as Peter Chernin's speech, are also discussed.

Michael Grade's plans to return ITV to growth, which included setting a target of 75% for in-house productions, ra ises important issues. The 75% target is a questionable one, especially that Grade wants the best programs on the network. Grade has opted to solve all ITV's problems all at once.
