The latest claim by The Great British Television Channel that Saturday Night television is bad and lacks variety is not new, having been heard around for years. In fact the quality of Saturday night programming has touched new heights in a decade. Strictly Come Dancing underlines the rebirth of British entertainment and is complemented by Ant & DecEs Saturday Night Takeaway, Sharon Osborne on The X Factor. Major investments by ITV and BBC have resulted in great shows and large audiences.

Survey finds deception levels are intolerable
Article Abstract:
Seventy percent of respondents in a Broadcast reader survey say that deception in TV programs has become intolerable and that they have a right to know what is real among what is shown. TV programs are undergoing increased scrutiny, but this is because broadcasters want to preserve their reputations. Respondents also believe that long-term effects of the recent controversies will be minimal.
