A report is presented on how critics' reviews can make or break television programmes, and how programme-makers heed the opinions of critics. The influence of reviews in the commissioning editor's office and in the multichannel world is discussed. Information is given on how The Guardian critic Jim Shelley, Evening Standard critic Victor Lewis-Smith and Daily Mirror's reviews impacted TV programme ratings.
