Bonniot quits Rushes to launch LA facility
Article Abstract:
Rushes managing director Eric Bonniot is quitting his post to head a new post production studio in Los Angeles, CA, for parent firm Virgin Digital Studios (VDS). Bonniot, who has been working at the facility in UK's Old Compton Street since June 1996, is expected to continue working at Rushes until at least the start of October 1998. VDS commercial director Mark Hewitt, who presently holds the title as acting managing director of Rushes sister firm West-1 Televisions, will succeed Bonniot, who is going back to the US to begin the first stage of VDS's facility in Santa Monica, CA, Studio 525.

Article Abstract:
Cell Animation, the graphics and animation unit of Tele-Cine Cell Group, is scheduled to be shut down after operating for close to 25 years as one of the longest-existing facilities in the United Kingdom. The development marks the end for financially-troubled Cell Animation unit, whose motion-control studio and facility operations will be closed in July 1998. Cell Animation's editing and 3D facilities will be either sold or reallocated into Tele-Cine.
