Stellar cast helps Cranford win its BBC1 9pm slot

The BBC1 drama "Cranford", during the week ending November 18, 2007, attracted 8 million viewers or a 29% share, mainly due to its stellar cast headed by Judi Dench. The program, which was adapted from different Elizabeth Gaskell's novels, failed to bring the fact that Cranford is in Cheshire. The ratings of other television programs are also discussed.
