TV set peace
Article Abstract:
The deal between Telewest, the second-largest cable concern in the UK, and Flextech, the second-largest channel provider, could mark the beginning of a new era of cooperation between channel providers and cable operators. Telewest acknowledges that there is an element of risk attached to the deal, but emphasizes that it will now receive 2.50 pounds sterling for each subscriber to the new Millennium Plus package. Some observers believe that the deal is partly the result of Flextech wishing to have its own channel platform.

The cuts that can kill
Article Abstract:
The plans of the British Broadcasting Corp. on cuts on its factual television programmes have sparked criticisms, campaigns included, to help save the international television documentary programme, Storyville. Although the BBC says that decisions have yet to be reached, it is evident that cuts need to be done, the broacasting corporation just had to be careful that it does not make cuts on programs that are highly appreciated.
