Music Choice Europe (MCE), supported by a consortium headed by Warner Music and Sony Software, and Digital Music Express (DMX), backed by International Cable Casting Technologies and Telecommunications Inc, both plan to offer radio audiences a package of themed channels of CD-quality music. These will be available by subscription, and will be aimed at people who simply want to listen to music, avoiding radio presenters and advertising. Music Choice is already available to more than 12 million cable subscribers in the US, while DMX is available to 17 million homes in the US, Europe, Israel, Central and South America and South Africa.
