The BBC baroness

Baroness Barbara Young of Scone has been appointed vice-chairman of the BBC, replacing Lord Cocks. Young will play a key role in appointing a new director general for the BBC along with chairman Sir Christopher Bland, John Birt and all the governors. Young is also a non-executive director at Anglia Water and the chairman of English Nature. The Baroness' career includes work for the National Health Service.
