The Endangered Species Act and the National Research Council's interim judgment in Klamath Basin
Article Abstract:
The National Research Council's interim report shows how scientific guesswork operates under a faulty Endangered Species Act. The 2001 U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service water allocation decision in the Klamath Basin was politicized after the opinion created difficulties for a group of people, however both the interim report and the 2001 biological opinion has its own pitfalls.
