The court officer: meet the press
Article Abstract:
The role of Minnesota court system information officer is roughly equivalent to that of the governor's press secretary. It is to make judges' interviews comprehensible to the press and public and to improve the often strained relations between the court system and reporters. One aim of this is to improve the news media's and the public's understanding of the court system. To this end, seminars were conducted over a two-year period in each of the state's 10 judicial districts in which judges instructed journalists in the working of the court system.

Feeding the ravenous appetite of the press: A defense attorney and law professor argues that reporting privileged information before it appears in court undermines the fairness of trials
Article Abstract:
Barry Scheck, a defense attorney and law professor, believes it is fair for reporters to seek out the facts of a case and report them accurately, but feels that privileged information should not be disclosed if there is going to be a fair trial. He feels that many reporters do not educate themselves seriously about DNA testing and is in favour of a code of ethics for lawyers serving as commentators in the news media.
