There is a lot of talk about US networks focusing more on non-scripted formats due to the Writers Guild of America strike. The strike has also led to networks considering buying more formats abroad, which implies more competition for UK formats. Other effects of the US writers' strike on UK's TV broadcasting industry are discussed.
