Virgin Media mulls own news channel

Virgin Media is planning to launch a news channel with content provider ITN to match BSkyB's Sky News, after the withdrawal of Sky News, Sky Sports News and Sky One from Virgin. Virgin is considering launching a 24-hour rolling news channel, though it is reported that the company is also exploring the possibility of launching a broadband news channel. The relationship of Virgin Media and ITN is also discussed.
