Welcome to Manchester?
Article Abstract:
The long awaited proposal to move a few of the BBC channels from London to Manchester that was made public by former DG Greg Dyke are being reviewed by Peter Salmon and Pat Loughrey who will present their recommendations to Mark Thompson the present BBC DG. Many BBC executives seem to support the idea but oppose it when it comes to their department. The move will follow with a substantial part of the [pounds sterling]2 billion commissioning budgets and the commissioning executives. Other questions that need answers are when the proposals will materialize, when the move will actually be and how many channels and departments will finally make the move?
