Risk and insurance in village India: comment
Article Abstract:
Research using Village India as a case study to learn the mechanics of risk and insurance reveals that tests are only suggestive of trends and may be subject to errors. The research using household level data to measure risk-sharing is subject to a certain degree of data and measurement error. Sampling reveals that co-movement in consumption is influenced by several factors, including consumptions on different levels and income changes.

Inference concerning the number of factors in a multivariate nonparametric relationship
Article Abstract:
A study of nonparametric factors in a multivariate nonparametric relationship reveals that two methods may be used for making inferences in the number of factors in a multivariate nonparametric relationship. One method involves power series estimation and the normalized roots of a determinantal equation. Another method involves kernel methods in determining factors.
