Australia floats latest multirole auxiliary ship concept

The Royal Australian Navy is planning a new ship for multiple roles such as underway replenishment, amphibious force transport and aviation support. The ships, known as MultiRole Auxiliarys, will replace an assortment of aging ships.

Australia outlines the shape of things to come for next-generation destroyer fleet

The Defence Material Organisation (DMO) of Australia has announced the details of the Evolved Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD), likely to be the Royal Australian Navy's (RAN's) next-generation destroyer fleet. The vessel is designed to enable a high level of interoperability and commonality with the US Navy (USN) service, and would be capable of operating medium and large naval helicopters and vertical-launch unmanned aerial vehicles.
