BOWMAN watershed
Article Abstract:
The consortium led by Racal-Thomson has been chosen to supply the Local Area System (LAS) component of the new UK BOWMAN military communications network. The subcontract, estimated to be worth in the range of GBP250 million, calls for Racal Radio to be the prime contractor for BOWMAN LAS and for Thomson-CSF to be the system design authority. BOWMAN LAS is expected to provide a full array of multimedia services between vehicles and Command Headquarters. Archer Communications is the prime contractor for BOWMAN.
