Can the JSF change legacy EW?
Article Abstract:
Legacy electronic warfare suites have not improved despite annual sustainment allocation of around $600 million. The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter technology has an open architecture that permits easy software p ortability and built-in, pre-planned improvements and has longer predicted mean-time-between-failure rate and much cheaper to maintain at just $1 million every year compared to legacy's $8 million.
